Producer Information
Domaine d’Auvenay is a small Burgundian wine estate based in Saint-Romain. It is the third entity of the Leroy empire, named after Lalou Bize-Leroy and previously been run by her husband Marcel Bize until his death in 2004. Estate-grown village, Premier Cru and Grand Cru wines made from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are produced under the d’Auvenay label. There are only 4 hectares (10 acres) of vines, compared with the 22ha (54 acres) at Domaine Leroy, but these holdings include plots in the Mazis-Chambertin, Bonnes-Mares and Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru vineyards, as well as in a small handful of premier cru vineyards including Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatières and Meursault les Gouttes d’Or.
